This week we will begin critiquing your art as a class. We will be reviewing your art that represents the Golden Mean. This process may go very fast or very slow. What is important is that we learn to see from other points of view and perspectives. It is important to use the art lingo you have learned over the years, meaning the vocabulary of the elements and principles of design. As a review some of those vocabulary words are:
symmetry, asymmetrical, balance, texture, positive/negative space, vector, opaque, ambiguity, saturation, hue, tint, multiplicity, spacial relations, scale, contrast, vividness, impact, etc.
The second lesson this week will be discovering the meaning of a vortex as is revealed below.
Discovering the Meaning of a Vortex
Assignment 1:
Think about all the places in your life that contain energy. Now think of those places as taking a form such as a tornado does, or a black hole, etc. Draw those vortex’s in your life in your sketchbook. How many can you draw? How many can you think of? Make a photo of one of those drawings and send them to ihs.db@yahoo.com . This one image will go into your portfolio and the other images will count towards your work in your sketchbook.
Assignment 2:
Take four photographs using your cell phone of a vortex that you observe over this week and send them to ihs.db@yahoo.com. Make sure your name is on the email along with your class number and period.
